One man in hospital, one in jail following Quapaw shooting
QUAPAW, Okla. – One man is in the hospital, another being held in the Cherokee County, Kansas jail following a shooting Saturday in Quapaw.
48-year-old Mark Daugherty is being held on tribal complaints of attempted murder and possession of a controlled substance.
The victim, 49-year-old Jerry Whitham, is listed in stable condition at Freeman Health System.
The shooting took place on South Chestnut Street in Quapaw.
Daugherty is being held without bail in Cherokee County.
