Two Joplin groups receive money to help children

Joplin Regional Community Foundation’s Philanthropic Society will announcement the recipients of its inaugural grant round during a news conference today. Two $50,000 grants were awarded for children’s health and child abuse reduction. In the category of children’s health the grant was awarded to KCU Joplin and will be used to provide health screenings to Joplin Kids.

In the category of child abuse reduction the Jasper County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) will use their grant to hire a new employee for individual case work involving abused children.
