A man will face life in prison for the killing of a transgender teen.

A man who was responsible for the killing of a transgender teen whose burned remains were found three years ago was ordered to life in prison without parole on Friday.

21-year-old Andrew Vrba was sentenced for the crimes of first-degree murder and armed criminal action for the killing of 17-year-old Ally Steinfeld. He was sentenced in Green County.

Back in 2017, Steinfeld had been missing for weeks when her remains were found in the Texas County town of Cabool. This area is about 70 miles east of Springfield.

Authorities have stated that the crime wasn’t motivated by Steinfeld’s gender identity.
