MSSU welcomes community partners with Green & Gold Engagement Initiatives

JOPLIN, Mo. — Missouri Southern State University is inviting local businesses and organizations to participate in Green & Gold Engagement initiatives that strengthen community partnerships and enhance the student experience.

Upcoming engagement opportunities include:

• Southern Welcome Week: Support incoming freshmen and their families with special discounts and promotions from Aug. 13–16. Email offers to [email protected].

• Spirit Tunnel: Join MSSU in this time-honored tradition to welcome students and help them celebrate the start of the semester on Aug. 14. The tunnel will begin to form shortly before 11 a.m. between the new Roy Blunt Health Science Innovation Center and the Pedestrian Tunnel opening near Newman Road.

• Community Day: Strengthen connections to students in collaboration with Career Services on Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. Registration is available online.

• Paint the Town Green & Gold: Celebrate Lion pride with themed decorations and promotions from Sept. 16–Oct. 10. Participants can register online, receive a Starter Pack of branded materials, and decorate their storefront or office in Green & Gold to win recognition opportunities and other prizes. • Homecoming Pep Rally: Show your school spirit and enjoy a movie on the football field on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m.

• Homecoming Parade: Gather with the MSSU community for an exciting day of music and festivities on Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. Registration is available online.
