EF-0 to EF-1 tornado damage surveyed in Joplin, Carthage areas

The National Weather Service in Springfield has confirmed that it was an EF-0 to EF-1 tornado that damaged parts of southeast Joplin and east Joplin.

It had max winds of 95mph.

Joplin was under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning with a tornado possible tag on it at the time.

The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning at 11:34pm. A few minutes after it impacted the damaged areas.

The National Weather Service also says an EF-0 to EF-1 tornado was surveyed just west of Carthage. Max winds were also 95mph.

This was a separate touchdown from the Joplin tornado but from the same circulation.
