Tree falls on Chevy Van on Highway 171; Driver injured

There was an accident on Higway 171, about two miles north of Carl Junction around 10:20 this [Thursday] morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 2021 Chevrolet Express Van was traveling north when a tree fell on its hood.

The driver, 35-year-old Louis K. Riebe of Mt. Vernon, suffered moderate injuries.

He was taken by ambulance to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
