Springfield teacher who used racial slur in class resigns

The teacher at Glendale High School in Springfield who repeatedly used a racial slur in class has resigned.

That’s according to a statement made by Springfield Public Schools.

It went on to say that the subject of a student who was banned for recording the teacher’s comments is confidential.

Stephen Hall of Springfield Schools said in the statement that the district’s student handbook is clear on what constitutes inappropriate use of electronic devices.

Hall said the Springfield District wants schools to be safe and welcoming learning environments.
