Nearly $200k raised for Joplin Police officer families

An update to the donation fund for the families of fallen Joplin Police Corporal Ben Cooper, Officer Jake Reed and to the family of Officer Rick Hirshey, who was badly wounded a month ago.

Nearly $200,000 was raised in donations from TAMKO and its employees, Crossland Construction, Freeman Health System and several other area businesses that stepped up to contribute when they heard about the matching pledge. TAMKO’s employees donated $15,000, which was fully matched by the company.

TAMKO says they are so thankful for the community’s generosity to help support these families.

A separate GoFundMe has raised over $91k for the families.
