Street closings in Joplin begin Monday
Motorists are advised that beginning this coming Monday re-lineing work on sewer lines will begin immediately west of Main Street between 1st and 2nd Streets.
A city news release says Ace Pipe Cleaning will be doing the work.
To access the sewer manholes, 2nd Street between Main and Joplin Avenue will be closed to west-bound traffic, and 1st Street will be closed to east-bound traffic. The work is expected to two to three days but may be longer depending on the condition of the sewer pipes.
Also starting Monday Byers Avenue will be closed between 6th and 7th Streets as utility connections are being made to the new courthouse. The closure is expected to last two days but may last longer due to any unforeseen circumstances.
Drivers are urged to use extreme caution in the work areas.
