Two arrested in Galena after fentanyl, meth, xanax found in motel room

Two people were arrested on numerous charges at the Galena Motel Monday night after a call regarding a domestic disturbance. Read the full press release below:

Galena Officers arrived and contacted 25-year-old Riley Colon from Asbury, MO, and 23-year-old Morgan Boyer from Webb City, MO. While investigating the domestic dispute officers located illegal narcotics and paraphernalia in plain view. Officers secured the room and obtained a search warrant.

During a search of the room, Officers located suspected Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Marijuana, Xanax, and drug paraphernalia.

At this time charges are being forwarded to the Cherokee County District Attorney’s Office for both Colon and Boyer for Domestic Battery, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Xanax, Misdemeanor Possession of Paraphernalia, and Felony Possession of Paraphernalia.

Due to the Motel being within 1000 Feet of the Galena Head Start, as well as the Galena Middle School and Galena High School, additional charges are being sought for Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to distribute within 1000 Feet of a school, Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute within 1000 Feet of a school, and Possession of Xanax with intent to distribute within 1000 Feet of a school on both Colon and Boyer.

Colon was also arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Galena for a previous DUI.
Boyer is being held on a $86,000 bond, and Colon is being held on a $86,500 bond.
