Oklahoma coronavirus case number averages are declining

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – The rolling average of coronavirus cases in Oklahoma is declining, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

The average of new cases has fallen by 27.4 during the past two weeks, from 321.4 daily on April 1 to 294 per day on April 15, a drop of 8.5%.

The number of new cases per capita, at 109.5 per 100,000 people, ranks 47th in the nation. T

he state health department, which no longer provides daily case and death counts during weekends, on Friday reported 444,863 total virus cases and 8,124 deaths based on death certificates supplied to the federal Centers for Disease Control.
