U.S. unemployment continues to rise.

U.S. unemployment rose again last week to 965,000, the largest amount since August.

It’s likely that this rise was caused because of Covid-19 increasing layoffs.

Before the pandemic, applications were typically around 225,000.

Those applications spiked to almost 7 million last spring, after the original nationwide shutdown.

Though applications for unemployment have declined over the summer, the number of cases has been around 700,000 since September.
