West 7th Granny Shaffer’s voluntarily closes for 10 days

If you’re planning on going to Granny Shaffer’s Restaurant on west 7th street for breakfast in the next few days, you should make other plans.

The owners of the restaurant have made the decision to close for 10 days because of a possible COVID-19 exposure.

“We’re not even sure if it happened but [it] would have been a few days ago,” said a statement on the business’s website.

“The Joplin health department said we could remain open but we felt like we should not take a chance even if it was extremely unlikely.”

Granny Shaffer’s will be open again on June 29th.
