Pronto Pharmacy in Joplin and Webb City has closed without any warning to their customers or much warning to their employees either. The business has been sold to Walgreens.
KZRG’s Rob Rauch visited the Pronto Pharmacy location at 1227 E 32nd Street Suite #6 in Joplin. The owner of both locations, Mike Stuart, said he wasn’t aware until Monday that the store would be closing this week, and that’s when he notified his employees. He said after the business was sold, it was up to Walgreens when the store would officially close.
A sign was posted on the door this morning (1/16) that reads “Attention customers of Pronto Pharmacy #4, the pharmacy is now CLOSED. Your prescriptions have now been transferred to Walgreens.”
It came as a shock to many customers.
The sign is hanging on the door at Pronto locations in Joplin and Webb City.
Each location employs six people, who are now out of a job.
Stuart could not comment further on the buyout, but wishes his employees and all of his customers well.
