Walmart Ending “Savings Catcher” Program

Walmart is ending its “savings catcher” program, saying they already have the lowest prices available, rendering that feature on their app useless.

You have until May 14th to submit your Walmart Pay e-receipts for processing, but the balance of your Savings Catcher eGift card will remain on your card until you choose to spend it.

Walmart app, Walmart Savings Catcher

Walmart said that the program was designed to catch occasions when a competitor’s price on a nationally advertised item was lower than what a customer paid for it at Walmart. So, with this program, Walmart app users could submit their receipts if they found a lower price for a product at a competitor. In return, the difference between the two prices was put on an eGift card for later use. And while the savings catcher is going away, Walmart says they will still price match if you find a lower price at another retailer.
