Climate Change protestors gather at 7th and Main

A group of climate change protesters gathered at 7th and Main in Joplin Friday.  The group displayed brightly-colored signs to motorists during the busy noon hour.

Sydnie Benjelloun, Joplin, who leads an informal group of activists, says its important to attract the attention of the people at the top.

“It’s not not necessarily about who recycles the most at home,” she says.  “It’s more about getting in contact and raising awareness. Grabbing the attention of global leaders, our political leaders, the ultra-rich that have the ability to make a difference than we’re capable of doing.”

Benjelloun suggest writing legislators and supporting climate-friendly candidates at the ballot box.
