Alleged Drunk Driver In Serious Condition Following Crash

A 21-year-old man accused of wrecking his car while intoxicated is in serious condition today at a Joplin hospital. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Tanner Shankles of Carthage ran off the road on Highway 59 in Fidelity and smashed into the ditch Thursday night. He’s been charged with DWI and careless and imprudent driving.
