Carthage man seriously injured in morning auto accident

Twenty-five-year-old Angel Gomez-Lopez of Carthage suffered serious injuries as the result of an accident on Highway 96 near Carthage around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20.

Gomez-Lopez was air-evacuated to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred after was tried to pass another vehicle and he hit a car driven by 32 year old Alexandria Delauriers of Columbia.

Delauriers suffered minor injuries.
