Abandoned Building To Be Torn Down To Reduce Crime
Abandoned buildings are a hot bed for crime, and can even double the crime rate on the streets where they’re located. Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt’s office will be helping community organizations tear down some of those abandoned buildings next month.
“It’s a big problem. There’s a lot of criminal activity taking place, so if we can tear them down, the community is better for it.”
St. Louis and Kansas City are considered two of the most dangerous cities in America based on violent crime rates.
Schmitt says this is just one of many ways to lower the state’s crime rate.
