Missouri’s New Child Care Laws In Effect Aug 28th
Missouri will have changes in child care laws at the end of this month.
Governor Parson has signed a bill setting new limits on the number of children that can be in an unlicensed daycare. Six children are allowed, but only up to three kids under 2 years old. Children under 5 years of age that live in the home are also included that six child allowance.
For licensed childcare facilities, all children, including related children, will count in the license capacity.
Tougher penalties and fines for breaking the law – and more education and clearer guidelines for DHSS to enforce for unlicensed care which includes denying an application if the childcare facility is located within 1,000 feet from the residence of a registered sex offender.
These laws go into effect Aug 28th
