Cruz Wants Antifa Classified as Domestic Terrorist Organization

Two U.S senators fed up Antifa are introducing a bill to declare the group a domestic terrorist organization. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas is one of them. Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana is the other. Cassidy is concerned that violent protests are becoming more common.

“This sort violence should not be tolerated on the right or the left. This is about allowing Americans their Bill of Rights, freedom of speech, freedom of association without being assaulted by anarchists.”

Cruz and Cassidy referenced the attack in Portland, Oregon where conservative journalist Andy Ngo was beaten up by Antifa members. Critics of the bill say using the term “domestic terrorist organization” doesn’t actually mean anything under U.S law.
