Probation For Former Police Officer Involved In Drunk Driving Crash

A former police officer receives only probation for a drunk driving crash where is own kids were injured.

57-year-old Brady Stuart of Oronogo blew through an intersection in Webb City, t-boning another car, injuring that driver in 2016. Brady’s two kids were also injured when he rolled his car. Brady previously served as a police officer for the City of Joplin, and as a deputy for Jasper County.

In a plea deal, Brady pleaded guilty to the second-degree assault charge for crashing his car while intoxicated. The prosecutor dropped the child endangerment charges. This week Jasper County Judge Gayle Crane gave Brady five years of supervised probation, plus ordered him to drug and alcohol screenings and told him to install an ignition interlock device in his car for the next three months. He was facing four years in prison.
