Officers in Pittsburg discover fentanyl, cocaine; Atchison, Kansas man arrested

On Friday morning, March 28, 2025, at approximately 08:35 AM, law enforcement officers with the Pittsburg Police Department and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant for illegal drugs at a residence in the 300 block of W. 10th Street in Pittsburg.
The search warrant stemmed from an investigation into the possession of controlled substances, specifically methamphetamine and fentanyl. Upon execution of the search warrant several individuals were encountered and detained. Evidence was collected and all subjects were interviewed in reference to this case.
During the investigation, 44-year-old Wendell Ryan Martin, was found to be in possession of Fentanyl, Cocaine, and other controlled substances. Additionally, the investigation revealed Martin had been in possession of a firearm and that he was determined to be a convicted felon.
As a result, Martin, of Atchison Kansas, was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Sheriff’s office for booking.
Martin was arrested for felony distribution of suspected fentanyl, felony possession of narcotics (suspected fentanyl and cocaine), and felony possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon. Mr. Martin is currently being held without bond.
Martin is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
