Cardinal and Royals baseball season starts today

Opening Day is here in Missouri. 

Both the Royals and Cardinals are beginning the season at home. 

The Royals, a playoff team from a year ago, will try to chase down the Cleveland Guardians, a team they finished 6.5 games behind for the Central Division title. 

KC will open with the Guardians today, and Cole Ragans will start. 

The Cardinals missed the playoffs the last two years and look to regroup with a mix of veterans and young players. 

One of those young players finally getting his shot is Luken Baker, making his first opening day roster. 

He spent six years, 576 games in the minors. 

St. Louis is hosting their 133rd year of professional baseball in the National League. 

Both the Redbirds and Royals start just after 3.
