Best Friends Animal Society in Bentonville to hold three “Kitten Fostering” workshops

Bentonville, AR – Starting this Friday, Best Friends Animal Society Pet Resource Center in Bentonville will host three “Intro to Kitten Fostering” workshops in March as kitten season ramps up.
“Kitten Season” takes place from approximately April – October, when many cats have litters (sometimes multiple in a season), and shelters see a dramatic spike in “found” kittens brought to their facilities by well-intentioned community members.
“It’s more than an influx, its a tidal wave,” says Linda DeBerry, Strategic Communications & Outreach at Best Friends.
However, a shelter is not the best place for a kitten, so Best Friends works with rescues and shelters to take kittens out of shelters so they can be safely raised in foster homes. For those interested in fostering kittens but unsure where to begin, these workshops will provide the basics, including what to expect, how to care for bottle babies, setting up a safe and cozy space, when to seek medical support, and more. Workshops will take place on the following days:
-
Friday, March 14 from 6:00-7:00pm – more info here
-
Tuesday, March 18 from 5:30-6:30pm – more info here
-
Saturday, March 22 from 10:00-11:00am – more info here
