Parsons traffic stop leads to multiple charges filed against passenger, driver
A traffic stop in Parsons, Kansas has resulted in charges filed against a man with active felony warrants.
During a traffic stop, a Parsons police officer Sergeant Christian Smith identified the driver as operating without a valid driver’s license and recognized the passenger as Troy Kellogg, who had several warrants.
Kellogg was placed into custody without incident. During the encounter, the officer observed Kellogg attempting to conceal narcotics. That prompted a search of the vehicle.
The search revealed various substances, including a white crystalline substance presumptively
positive for methamphetamine; a green leafy substance presumptively positive for marijuana; and other
narcotics suspected to be Oxycodone, Morphine, Alprazolam, and Cyclobenzaprine.
All substances have been sent to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) Crime Lab for confirmation.
Kellogg was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substances and Possession of
Drug Paraphernalia, along with active warrants for Felony Bond Revocation out of Delaware County,
Oklahoma, and a Parole Violation warrant from the Kansas Department of Corrections.
He was transported to jail in parsons, and the charges are being forwarded to the Labette County Attorney’s Office for review and formal filing.
The driver of the vehicle is also facing charges for multiple traffic violations.
