Cleave charged with rape, two other counts in Cherokee County

A man from Oklahoma is charged with rape of a victim under age 14 and two other counts in southeast Kansas.

38-year old Christopher Lane Cleave of Ponca City, Oklahoma is charged with rape where the offender is 18 or older and the victim under the age of 14.

He’s also charged with aggravated indecent solicitation of a child under 14 and attempted rape of a child under 14.

The crimes allegedly took place between Nov. 1 and December 31 of 2022 in Cherokee County.

He was taken into custody on January 8th.

He is being held on a $50,000 bond in the Cherokee County Jail.
