Kobach leads coalition asking Trump to end failed Biden immigration policies

TOPEKA – (Jan. 8, 2025) – Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach today led a coalition of state attorneys general in a letter to the incoming Trump administration asking the President-elect to secure the border and to stop Biden’s immigration policies that caused a historic surge of illegal immigration.

“One of the most important reasons Americans elected President Trump was because they want a secure border and sensible immigration policies. We look forward to the President restoring the rule of law and putting Americans first,” Attorney General Kris Kobach said.

Republican attorneys general took the Biden administration to court to stop some of Biden’s lawless immigration executive orders. They prevailed in virtually every one of those lawsuits. Most recently for instance, Kobach won a federal district court injunction to stop the Biden administration from providing Obamacare benefits to illegal aliens.

According to the letter, Trump’s policies during his first term resulted in record-low illegal immigration. The Republican AG coalition looks forward to Trump reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” policy, ending the abuse of immigration parole and stopping federal agencies from granting birthright citizenship.

“Republican attorneys general will support President Trump as he restores the rule of law to our immigration system. We will work with President Trump to secure the border, end failed Biden administration immigration policies and effect the largest deportation in U.S. history. We will stand with President Trump as he makes America safe again,” the letter reads.

In addition to Kobach, attorneys general from 18 other states signed the letter. They include Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
