Fatal DWI crash near Fidelity claims life of Sarcoxie man

A fatal DWI crash near Fidelity has claimed the life of a man from Sarcoxie on Christmas Eve.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened on Highway 59, just south of Apple Road Tuesday afternoon.

An arrest report states that 43-year-old Jennifer L. Maupin, of Grove, Oklahoma, was allegedly driving while intoxicated when she tried to pass another vehicle but then hit a small SUV head-on.

A 37-year-old man from Sarcoxie driving that small SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The Missouri State Highway Patrol has not made his name public.
