Two people die in head-on collision in Webster County
Two people died in a two-car collision in about 7 miles east of Niangua around 2:25 Friday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened when an eastbound passenger car driven by a 36-year-old woman from Hartville crossed the centerline and struck a westbound car driven by a 42-year-old man from Marshfield.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by Webster County Coroner, Michael Taylor.
The man was taken by air to Cox South Hospital in Springfield where he was pronounced dead.
In keeping with policy, the Highway Patrol does not release the names of people involved in traffic accidents.
It marked the 111th and 112th fatalities for SW Missouri Highway Patrol Troop D in 2024.
