In a Christmas tree emergency? The Johnson Family Farm has you covered.
If you are still looking for a Christmas tree, have the urge to transition from faux trees to live trees or just want to start a new family tradition, the Johnson Family Farm in Webb City has you covered.
With just under two weeks until Christmas, there is still time to start a new family tradition.
“We always tell people it’s about building a tradition, coming out to the farm as a family and choosing a tree off the tree lot or going out into the field and cutting it down versus just getting one out of your attic and putting it up in your living room,” owner Andy Johnson said.
At the start of the Christmas tree season, usually near the Thanksgiving holiday, the Johnson Family Farm offers the full experience for the family.
“(Using a faux tree) doesn’t really compare going out to the farm and walking around the fields and going on a hay ride, or the kids getting to go on a barrel train ride then going to the gift shop and getting to browse around,” Johnson said. “We have the camp fire going so you can roast some s’mores and we have complimentary hot cider and hot chocolate in the gift shop when you purchase a tree.”
Currently, The Johnson Family Farm is open this weekend and next weekend, as long as trees are still available. But if you find yourself in a Christmas tree emergency and need one ASAP during the week, you can call ahead and set up a meeting to pick up a tree.
“We are doing appointments this week and maybe some next week,” Johnson said. “We are available for a couple of hours during the day and they can just message us on the Facebook page and we can set up an appointment if they’re not able to come out during the weekend.”
Though the forest is closed now, they have plenty of pre-cut fraiser, douglas, balsam and concolor fir, spruce and white pines trees available that range from six to eight feet in height.
The Johnson Family Farm also has everything a family needs to get the tree home and set up properly as well.
