Monett man charged with robbery of bank in Barry County

Charges have been filed in connection with the robbery of a bank in Barry County on Thursday.

24-year-old Tristan Ferdig of Montett is charged with stealing over $750 and with resisting arrest.

Authorities say that Ferdig walked into the United Missouri Bank at 500 E. Broadway in Monett and demanded cash.

Ferdig gave the teller a bag which a teller filled with a little over $3,000.

Following a brief struggle, Ferdig was arrested and the money was recovered.

Ferdig reportedly has a history of stealing – mostly from grocery stores.
