Charges filed against KC man for trafficking, assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest
NEOSHO, Mo. – A Kansas City man has been charged with Trafficking Drugs in the First Degree,
Assault on Law Enforcement, and Resisting Arrest for an incident that is alleged to have occurred
on November 24, 2024 at the Range Line Road exit of Interstate 44.
Lamarr Davis, 45, of Kansas City was charged on a six-count complaint filed in front of Judge
Jacob Skouby of the 40th Judicial Circuit.
“It is important to remember that Mr. Davis is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” said
William Lynch, Newton County Prosecuting Attorney. “The facts alleged in the probable cause
statement were alarming to me, as officer safety continues to be one of my primary concerns as
prosecutor.”
A request for high bond filed by Lynch also indicates the defendant stands charged in Oklahoma
with drug trafficking and resisting arrest arising from an incident occurring in Craig County on
November 28, 2023 in addition to other prior convictions for similar conduct.
The charges and information contained in the complaint, probable cause statement, and other
court documents are simply accusations and not evidence of guilt.
Evidence supporting these charges must be presented to a jury of the defendants’ peers, and all criminal defendants are innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
This case was investigated by members of the Joplin Police Department and the case will be prosecuted by the Newton County Prosecutor’s Office.
