A portion of Route 66  will be closed in Joplin for Water Pipe Repair Dec. 6-8

The closure will affect Missouri Route 66 (7^th Street) between Vermont Avenue and Park Avenue in Joplin

The road will be closed  7 a.m., Friday, December 6 through 7 p.m., Sunday, December 8 while Missouri American Water crews making repairs to water pipe

Traffic Impacts:

• Route 66 (7^th Street) CLOSED between Vermont Avenue and Park Avenue
• Drivers will be directed along a signed detour of Michigan Avenue north to 5^th Street, right on Elm Street, right on 4^th Street and right on McConnell Avenue
• Access will be maintained to all businesses
• Drivers should find alternate route
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
• Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
