Longtime Joplin physician, businessman Dr. Robert Willcoxon dies

Joplin physician Dr. Robert Willcoxon has died.

Dr. Willcoxon, originally from Wichita, Kansas, was a longtime medical staff member at both St. Johns and Freeman Hospitals in Joplin.

He also was involved in the grocery business, helping to develop the Food-4-Less grocery store group.

He and his wife Dot forged a legacy of giving by forming the Bramlage Willcoxon Family Foundation in 2017.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin.

Robert Willcoxon, M.D. was 85 years old.
