Woman from Vernon County wins big in Powerball

A woman from southwest Missouri is the big winner in Powerball.

A woman from Vernon County won $50,000 dollars in the drawing that was held on October 9th.

The ticket was purchased at Mr. D’s Smokeshop and Liquor Store in Nevada.

The woman who won the money had to match four numbers and the Powerball number to win the prize.

Powerball money goes to support education in the State of Missouri.

Last year that amounted to over a million and a half dollars in Vernon County alone.
