Car hits bus Saturday night on Missouri 171; Webb City man injured

An accident on Missouri 171, three miles north of Asbury resulted in injuries to a man from Webb City.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 11:45 Saturday night..

A northbound 2024 Honda Accord driven by 22-year-old Angel F. Sierra Cortes of Webb City crossed the centerline and struck a southbound 2014 Prevost H3-45 bus driven 73-year-old Michael L. Kern of Ozark, Missouri.

Cortes was ticketed for misdemeanor DWI.

Cortes suffered moderate injuries. He was taken to Mercy Joplin Hospital.

Kern was not injured.
