Pittsburg Police to participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
National Drug Takeback Locations in the NewsTalk KZRG listening area.
Tomorrow, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Pittsburg Police Department will be a hosting site location for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
The DEA, along with its other law enforcement partners, will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription medication.
For more than a decade, the event has helped citizens easily rid their homes of unneeded medications – those that are old, unwanted, or expired – that too often end up in the wrong hands and become a gateway to addiction. Take Back Day has removed more than 9,285 tons of medication from circulation since its inception.
The Pittsburg Police Department is proud to provide the community with the ability to responsibly dispose of medication. Anyone wishing to dispose of unwanted prescription medication is encouraged to bring them to the Pittsburg Police Department, located at 201 N. Pine St., Pittsburg, Kansas, on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This service is free of charge and individuals can remain anonymous. For more information about this service, or other hosting site locations, please visit the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s website at DEATakeBack.com.
Please keep sharps, needles, injectors and aerosol containers (inhalers) separate from other prescription medications. Due to their nature, these items will need to be disposed of separately.
