Early-morning accident injures Carl Junction woman

A single-vehicle accident on Black Cat Road, about a mile west of Carl Junction caused moderate injuries to a woman from that community around 1:18 Thursday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a northbound 1998 Chevy Tahoe driven by 23-year-old Ariana Atwood of Carl Junction traveled off the northbound side of the roadway, then stuck an embankment and a utility pole.

Atwood suffered moderate injuries.

She was taken by ambulance to Mercy-Joplin hospital for treatment.
