MoDOT warns drivers to be on the lookout for deer
Now that October has arrived, the risk of auto-deer collisions increases.
The Missouri Department of Transportation says most deer strikes happen during October and November between six and seven-AM and between six and nine-PM.
Jason Isabelle with the Department of Conservation adds that the breeding season has arrived for deer, and it runs through mid-November.
Missouri ranks between 10th and 15th nationally every year for deer-related crashes. Four people died and 420 were injured last year.
