Three people injured in Saturday morning accident in Newton County

Three people were injured, two seriously, in an accident on Missouri 86 in Newtonia around 11:47 Saturday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened  when a passenger car driven by 54-year-old Hu Cung of Pineville failed to yield and pulled into the path of a pickup driven by 45-year-old Tommy S. Webb of Stark City.

After being hit, the pickup hit an occupied car in a parking lot.

Webb was not injured.

Kung and a passenger 47-year-old Lauttlai Cung of Stella, had serious injuries.

A woman in the Cung vehicle, 48-year-old Man Par of Stella, had minor injuries.

All three were taken to Freeman West in Joplin.
