Big wins for NEO rodeo teams at Kansas State Rodeo

The NEO rodeo team is participating in the Colby Community College Rodeo in Colby, Kansas this weekend. That competition follows big wins earlier this month in Manhattan, Kansas.

The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College rodeo teams attended the Kansas State Rodeo in Manhattan September 6-8. At the competition, the women’s team placed first in the junior college division and the men’s team placed fourth.

At the rodeo, Lakin Cunningham competed in goat roping where she tied for second and third place, and Colbi Freeman competed in breakaway roping where she placed fourth. Brody Tunks competed in calf roping, at which he placed fifth, and Treydon Larmon and Gus Albertson competed in team roping where they placed fourth.

“I was very pleased with the way our team competed at K-State,” said NEO Rodeo head coach Kolby Ungeheuer. “We are very young this year and we competed very well with all the other junior college teams. I have no doubt we will keep getting stronger as a team as the season moves forward. It was very exciting to have five students in the finals, they represented us well.”
