Cape Girardeau schools increase security after receiving threats

School officials in Cape Girardeau say they are beefing up security today after receiving threats.

The exact nature of the threats was not disclosed.

Authorities also will increase security at other buildings and campuses in that southeast Missouri district.

Just three ago days,  threats were made via social media against several Joplin area schools.

Those threats were ruled were ruled non-credible.

Schools around the nation have been experiencing similar threats over the last year.
