Resurfacing work to start on K-126 September 23

The Kansas Department of Transportation expects to begin a resurfacing project on two sections of K-126 the week of Sept. 23. The work will start at the east city limits of Pittsburg and continue east to the Kansas-Missouri state line. Upon completion of the first section, the contractor will resurface K-126 from U.S. 400 north and east to K-7.

Project activity includes patching and a mill and overlay. Flaggers and a pilot car operation will direct one-lane traffic through the work zone during daylight hours. Expect delays of 15 minutes or less. The road work should be finished by late November, weather permitting.

KDOT awarded the construction contract of $3.1 million to Bettis Asphalt & Construction, Inc., Topeka.
