Missouri congressional delegation calling for audit of eastern Missouri mail sorting center
Four U.S. House members from Missouri are calling for an audit of the U.S. Postal Service’s sorting center in St. Louis County.
Representatives Ann Wagner, Blaine Luetkemeyer, Sam Graves, and Jason Smith, all Republicans, say an audit is needed due to mail delivery being “delayed and inconsistent” within their congressional districts.
In a letter to the Postmaster General, they specifically mention that some absentee ballots that were postmarked in July did not arrive in time to be counted for the August 5th primaries.
Wagner, Luetkemeyer, Graves, and Smith also say some of their constituents have been charged late fees on bills due to delays in mail service.
