Early morning I-44 crash claims life of Joplin woman

A one-vehicle crash on Interstate 44 early Tuesday morning has claimed the life of a woman from Joplin.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says around 3 am, 22-year-old Jessica C. Chapman was going east on I-44, near the Main Street exit, when she went off the road, hit a guardrail and overturned.

Chapman was pronounced dead a short time later.
