McCune parents charged with child endangerment, interference with officers

A couple from southeast Kansas are now being charged with aggravated child endangerment and interference with law enforcement officers.

Detectives and deputies responding to a home in McCune Wednesday morning for a welfare check of four children.

Further investigation led to the arrests of 42-year-old Clayton F. Hiben and 48-year-old Athena A. Siu.

The kids at the home were taken into police protective custody and later released to relatives.

Details about what led to their arrests were not made available.

Both are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
