Signal & Intersection Improvements at Three Locations in Joplin Beginning Week of Aug. 5
Drivers should expect occasional lane closures and traffic delays when a project to make intersection improvements and install traffic signals and street lighting begins in Joplin the week of August 5, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Here is where the work will be done:
- Missouri Route 43 (Main Street) and 34th Street
- Add northbound right turn lane
- Reconfigure center left turn lanes on Route 43 (Main Street)
- Loop 49 (Range Line Road) and Jasper County Route TT (Newman Road)
- Slightly widen right turn lanes
- Install new street lighting
- Missouri Route 43 (Main Street) and Fountain Road
- Replace current traffic signals with new ones on poles and mast arms
This project also includes installing new signs and permanent striping.
