The woman at the center of an alleged local travel agency fraud scheme has been arrested.
51-year-old Diahann Rae Wiford was taken into custody Tuesday night in Miami, Oklahoma, on a warrant out of Taney County, Missouri.
Three felony counts of passing bad checks $500 or more have been submitted, alsong with one misdemeanor count of passing bad checks under $500.
Wiford is being held with no bond.
The Miami Police Department says they have reached out to the Oklahoma Attorney Generals Office consumer protection unit, who will lead the investigation.
Miami PD says they have received more than 450 consumer complaints from people around the area in just the past several days regarding “Wiford Tour & Travel”.
Wiford is accused of taking customer’s money but not using it to actually pay for the reservations they made for their vacations, essentially selling fake trips.
