Highway 43 accident at Airport Drive injures woman from Fort Scott

An accident on Missouri Highway 43, north of Highway 171 at Airport Drive on Friday just after 1:30 injured a woman from Fort Scott, Kansas.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report says it happened when a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by 39-year-old Mary B. Newkirk of Fort Scott was waiting to make a left turn and was hit from the rear by a 2023 Chevy Equinix driven by 25-year-old Logan J. Hilgenbrink of Climax Springs, Mo.

Newkirk had only minor injuries.

She was transported by private conveyance to Mercy-Carthage Hospital.
